Note: ERA is an online advising course; it is not in-person advising. All new students will meet one-on-one with an advisor at Orientation to complete or review their schedule of classes.
What is the early registration advising course (ERA)?
It is a required online pre-Orientation tutorial. ERA will teach you how to use Appalachian's web registration system and how to choose your classes.
You must complete the tutorial prior to your Orientation session. Once you complete ERA and you have registered for an Orientation session, you will be issued a registration PIN to your Appalachian email account to start registering for classes (beginning Dec. 3, 2018 at noon). So, the sooner you complete ERA, the sooner you can register for classes.
Yes, we want you to begin registering for classees BEFORE orientation. You will solidify and update your class schedule with an advisor at Orientation.
Appalachian also has online placement testing that you might need to complete prior to registering for classes. Find out if you need to take these tests.
